My Journey
I am Thomas Gall, and I specialize in casino related activities like marketing and card counting. I started doing online surveys about 11 years ago while I was on the bus to my job or at home. I just earned free hotel stays and gift cards and never thought it would turn into what it did. This transformed into participating in UX/UI feedback studies, focus groups, and virtually every marketing opportunity for participants. Through this extensive work I feel like I learned marketing from the backend, or participant side. Overall, I have romanticized the idea of beating the system through card counting and finding systemic loopholes that can be exploited.
After watching the movie 21, and over a long period of time I studied blackjack while I was working in manufacturing. I was taught how it could be beaten through a method known as the hi-lo system. I listened to every podcast, audiobook, and instruction videos particularly by the famous Youtuber Colin Jones. While there are many systems, this is the most prominent. Growing up I fell off in my math studies and barely passed any math classes from 6th grade on. However, pretty much all that is needed in card counting is basic arithmetic which I excelled at.
There is this misunderstanding of card counting and just lack of knowledge regarding the math behind casino games. The most common are that it is illegal, that the house always wins, and that you will get beat up or that you need to be a genius. This is patently false (although in the past some card counters were beaten up by the mob) Most casinos are run by large corporations beholden to the gaming commission and FTC. Card counting is simply using your brain to do basic mental math at the table which is not illegal.
For the genius aspect, every genius was at one point not a genius until they applied themselves to something they were good at and loved to do. I don’t consider myself a genius because doing simple math in my head is not very impressive.
Because of my extensive study and practice, I achieved at age 25 my goal of counting cards in the Bellagio high limit room and staying in a comped fancy suite. I had positive variance on my first few trips to Vegas and of course over time I experienced the negative variance and it evened out as I approached what is known as N zero where the math of the game evens out. It took about 300 hours but it can be done in more or less time depending on the game.
How this relates to marketing. I discovered 2 years ago online sites called Sweepstakes Casinos which have a very different operating structure when compared to brick and mortar. The most notable difference is that they offer daily free play whether or not you deposit. They operate under sweepstakes law which means that no purchase is necessary to win. They offer 2 types of coins, typically called GC and SC. GC has no redeemable value but SC typically has a 1:1 ratio with the US dollar. Each day they have to give you some amount of SC. It could be a dollar, or it could be 10 cents every hour.
My system beating mind started thinking of how much money a person could make simply collecting the SC each day or playing the SC each day. Essentially the math over the long term, would be whatever the game’s RTP is. Sweepstakes casinos offer much higher RTP than brick and mortar casinos. Some games can be as high as 98 percent RTP and possibly even slightly higher. What this means is that just like blackjack, over a long enough period of time, with enough spins on the same game, you will also hit N zero where the game fully repays 96-98 percent of everything you wagered. So if the site offers 1 SC (or 1 dollar) each day, that means you get 365 SC worth of free play each year, and at 96 percent rtp, you are left with approximately $350 of redeemable winnings. Again I want to emphasize that this is over the LONG haul and could be tens or even hundreds of thousands of spins on the same game. It has to be the same game because if you change the game, the previous wager doesn’t apply.
From this point, I began searching for every sweepstakes casino out there. While not every site gives 1SC or 1 dollar each day, pretty much all give at least something which can be stacked together. All that I did was keep searching the internet daily to find new sites because I realized that if you had hundreds of sites giving free play, you could essentially retire off the passive income if you collected over a long enough period of time and logged in each day. On top of that, if I referred users, I could collect a percentage of everything they wagered over their entire lives. Technically, it was like I would be running my own casino earning up to 30 percent of whatever they wagered in the format of Net Generated Revenue or about 1-2 percent of their RTP.
I figured others were also searching for the same thing, more SC, more freeplay etc.
I made a simple google document and a reddit page promoting my affiliate links. Others were doing the same and I wanted to find something that would set me apart. I titled it: Complete list of Sweepstakes Casinos. Immediately, without even trying any SEO strategies, I hit the top Google search result for every variation of the terms Sweepstakes, Casinos, and Complete as long as Reddit was in the search result.
What happened next was, I wanted to set my Reddit page apart from other people just spamming their affiliate links. I reached out to a Youtuber named Slot Goddess Lisa who had 4,000 subscribers at the time. I watched her content and thought to myself, I think she is gonna really blow up. I asked her if she would be willing to be the featured streamer of my subreddit which she agreed to. I posted her streams which brought her new viewership and subscriptions. I really work to ensure any business practice is mutually beneficial in the same amount. I want the scales to be evenly weighted.
She and I really align well when it comes to moral principles like justice. She fought a war against a site called WowVegas for being dishonest about their RTP. She won, and WowVegas updated their RTP, and issued tons of free spins as an “apology” though they never admitted wrongdoing publicly..
I ended up with a massive list of casinos and as I heard reports from some individuals, Trustpilot reviews, and other means, I had to remove some because I want every casino to be fair, honor payouts, and especially honor affiliate partners like myself. 4 casinos were not abiding by those.
A massive site named Sweepslots suddenly removed my wallet on their affiliate dashboard and wouldn’t respond to my texts, calls, or emails. I wrote a negative review on trustpilot about their misconduct, and an individual who is far more successful than me, reached out on Linkedin. He put me in touch with a journalist who interviewed me and posted an article. This caused a ripple effect which made 10 casinos band together to petition for fair regulatory oversight. There are lawsuits pending against Sweepslots/Regal Technologies LLC, but as of today, I still have not been paid. They owe in excess of 1.5 million in unpaid commissions.
I truly believe that us 3 have made a significant impact in online Sweepstakes Casino reform. There are millions of stories about online sites in general where they never paid out their players. We have written letters to the FTC, and there is definitely something brewing for this industry reform.
Reddit shut down my page a month ago, as they implemented a new system which required payment for any form of advertisement after their IPO, though this hasn’t been explicitly communicated as such a policy. I believed that my affiliate marketing of casinos was over until I formed something new. This has absolutely not been the case. Without even promoting the Google doc, I have had thousands of new viewers because that document was shared over 50,000 times. I have petitioned Reddit to reopen my page, but am still waiting to hear back. It doesn’t really matter as I am still generating large amounts of traffic, first time purchasers and unique clicks.
I have just recently created a Facebook page to try and promote the list there but I have very little experience with their platform with regard to promotions.
To pretty much sum up what I am about, it is not just earning money for the sake of earning money, but to be a voice for people who have been cheated by online casinos. It is nearly unregulated but that is changing and I’d like to believe that I have made a small impact.
I have not spent a single penny on advertising.
Find your niche, even something as simple as a Google document can be successful if what you are promoting is very valuable. I have 54 sites on the page that are all (to the best of my knowledge) legitimate. However if I receive word of any misconduct I promptly remove them from my page.
Players over the long haul, meaning N zero, can expect to profit $21,000 each year (again it may take hundreds of thousands spins) from what I offer. The number of sites increases every week which means their daily free SC increases. By the time you read this, the list might be so big it could pay the salary of a doctor. I literally offer free money and I have to thank card counting for teaching me to find systemic loopholes. I don’t know exactly what is next for me but I am along for the ride. Perhaps a blackjack team?
